Internet Librarian 2009 first keynote on Monday, Oct 26th is well known computer scientist Vint Cerf, VP & Chief Internet Evangelist, Google, who is focuing on the conference theme — digital publishing, preservation and practices. Vinton (Vint) Cerf, along with Robert Kahn, is co-designer of the TCP/IP Internet network protocol.  Here is a picture of the two receiving an award from US President Bill Clinton.  There are a number of interesting videos of Cerf on the ‘net including: Wishing IEEE a happy 125th anniversary (2008), on net neutrality (2006), infrastructure for everyone to get access to the ‘net, including mobile and satellite access (2008) and a recent lecture of the University of Maryland where he talked about getting started, how cultures work differently around the world, RFID tags, and more.  Come see Vint Cerf in person next month in Monterey!
