What Web Managers Want to Know

Darlene Fichter, et al, did a survey in the Web Managers Academy Workshop yesterday about what more the audience would like to know.  She posted the results as a tag cloud — cool.  Thanks for sharing in such a visual way.  She and Jeff Wisniewski will be doing a whole session on Information Visualization Tools on Wednesday, a new session A304, which you can read more about on the blue final addendum sheet tucked into your program.  Jane Dysart, IL08 Conference Chair

Participatory Media & the Social Media Classroom

Good start to the Internet Librarian 2008 conference today with Howard Rheingold as our opening keynote.  I had noted earlier before we arrived in Monterey that Howard had a new video on video, Vernacular Video, and today he experimented with an multimedia show in which he spoke while videos, slides, and music were on the screen — great job!  He also encouraged our audience of Internet Librarians to help with in the participatory media literacy arena and work on the social media classroom.
